Daily Prices for Non-ferrous Aluminum Raw Materials

On January 15, 2024, the Shanghai main contract of Aluminum closed at 19080 RMB/ton (as of 3pm on Friday), a decrease of 0.08%. The average price of SMM spot A00 aluminum is 19150 RMB/ton. The average price for A00 aluminum ingots is RMB30. The aluminum futures warehouse receipt was 31283 tons, a decrease of 2816 tons from the previous day. LME aluminum inventory is 558575 tons, a decrease of 2000 tons. According to SMM statistics, the domestic electrolytic aluminum production in December 2023 (31 days) was 3.562 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.6%. Although the operating capacity of domestic electrolytic aluminum in December slightly increased compared to the previous month, there was no aluminum production in the electrolytic cells that had been reduced in Yunnan in the early stage. The daily average production of electrolytic aluminum in December decreased by more than 3800 tons compared to the previous month, to around 114900 tons. 1-11: Aluminum ingots are removed from storage, ranging from 8000 to 44000 tons, and aluminum rods are removed from storage, ranging from 5000 to 92500 tons. According to customs data, the total import volume of domestic primary aluminum in November 2023 reached 194000 tons, a decrease of 10.3% month on month and a year-on-year increase of 75.6%. The cumulative import volume of domestic primary aluminum from January to November was 1.367 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 153%. It is expected that aluminum prices will show a fluctuating trend in the future, with a domestic reference operating range of 18500 to 19600 yuan. Overseas reference operating range: $2150 to $2450.
