On March 21, 2024, the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced that in response to applications submitted by domestic Indian companies Hindalco Industries Ltd., Shyam Sel&Power Ltd., Shree Venkateshwara Electrocast Pvt. Ltd., Ravi Raj Foils Ltd., GLS Foils Product Pvt. Ltd., and LSKB Aluminum Foils Pvt. Ltd., an anti-dumping investigation will be launched against aluminum foil originating or imported from China. The involved product is aluminum foil with a thickness of 5.5 microns or less used for capacitors, involving products under Indian customs codes 76071190, 76072090, 76072010, 76071110, 7607199, 76071991, 76071995, 76071910, 76071994, 76071993, and 76071992.
The following products are not within the scope of this investigation: with a thickness of 5.5 microns or less, non capacitor aluminum foil. Clearly exclude aluminum foil with a thickness of less than or equal to 80 microns originating from or imported from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand (the anti-dumping measures in this case are currently being implemented); Ultra lightweight conversion aluminum foil, used for insulation, spice packaging, thermal fluid pipeline coverage, and tea packaging; Etched or formed aluminum foil for electrolytic capacitors; Aluminum composite panels for facade cladding and signage applications; Coated with aluminum foil; Aluminum foil for beer bottles; Aluminum manganese silicon alloy and/or coated aluminum manganese silicon alloy; Aluminum foil tape; Color coated aluminum foil.
